Taohuayuan (Peach Blossom Garden) is lacated 15 kilometers away from
Taoyuan County, Changde City,bordering on Yuan River, consisting of
Taoyuan Peaks and Peach Blossom mountain. This area has become known
who the world for its beauty since 3 AD in the Jin Dynasty, the poet
of East Jin Dynasty Tao yuanming wrote an essay "Taohuayuan",
in which he described the secluded place of taoyuan far away from
the noises of the human word. Taohuayuan later on took on the meaning
of Utopia for hermit's place. Since then a lot of scholars of all
dynasties went to visit the place.Every year the Peach Blossom Day
is held here with a huge social gathering. |
